hi,
Just wanted to ask a few questions i had in my mind for a long time.
My 3rd HDD ( 1 IDE, 2 SATA) died last month,SATA ones were segate 320 GB 7200 rpm and Samsung 500 GB 5400 RPM, both were used on a desktop for torrent downloading 24/7 for like 8 years (3+5). Is this as it is supposed to be or am i just unlucky. Now am planning to buy 1 new drive and am a bit confused, cause i heard the write cycles is what stresses a HDD so instead of directly downloading to the primary HDD, instead should i buy an inexpensive external ? I use my laptop for torrents as well so Will this particular idea hold good well because i don't want to loose my laptop HDD.
Thanks.
