hard drive question????/

getting new hd.The old drive is going to become slave.The new drive i'm doing fresh install.If i leave windows me on old drive,will comp boot(it will be slave)Also will any of the programs run on the old drive? Or i'll be just able to get data off it?

Yes, it will boot -- setup the "startup" settings in your BIOS.

oh i got it now....but if i'm working off new drive will the programs still work off old drive

probably not... but maybe =] epends on how they install and what registry settings they use...

Yes, they probably will. If you're running the OS that the programs were installed under, they will most likely work, because the only change you've made to your system is adding a new hard drive. That won't cause your programs to not work.

i plan on drag and dropping from old drive to new.I want to keep bookmars, settings,etc.Don't care if i have to reinstall some programs...Should this work???

Dont waste your time...copy the old to the new with Powerquest DriveCopy...reformat the old and set it as a slave.....then copy all your Pron. Pics, Mp3'zz and all that on the old drive.If one dies your covered !! Its like a poorboy raid....but better
Dont forget to put the swap file on the old drive too !
