My system currently has two hdds, one ultra ata66 5400 rpm drive and the other a ultra ata33 4000rpm drive.....My motherboard does not support ultra 66 and I wonder if my hdd is underperforming?......Is it advisable to buy a ata66 controller card?...oh, I ordered a ibm ultra 100 45gig 75gxp yesterday....will it have any compatibily problems?....thanks

Raj

I do not think you would see any performance boost with a ATA66 controller. Perhaps you new HD could use it but not your old ones.

No compatibility problems(since ATA100 is backward compatible with ATA33), but ATA33 will be limiting its performance. Not that much though, not enough to make a controller worthy of buying.
