hard drive question

i have a 100GB west. digital SE drive, can i use a SATA or RAID setup with my 40 Gb maxtor, leave the maxtor completely blank, and just transfer info from the WD to it when i need to reformat?

strange...RAID needs 2 or more drives preferrably same size/everything...if you RAID a 40 with a 100 ..you'd lose 60 from the 100..

you wouldn't have a RAID setup if the 40 is blank.. even as a storage drive it has to be formatted to be used under an OS

what about SATA? can i put the WD in the primary SATA channel and the blank 40GB on the secondary SATA channel?
