Hard Drive Purr

When I turned on my computer today, my desktop was making a high pitched sound. So after emailing Dell and going thorugh their step by step process, I finally discovered it was my hard drive making the sound. I defragmented it and tried cleaning the dust out of it, but no luck. Any help?

I once had a problem with my hard drive "purring". When I pulled the PC apart it turned out that I had accidently put my cat in there instead of the hard-drive. After some concern regarding the whereabouts of my misplaced hard drive I eventually found it out on the front porch, placed right next to a large saucer of milk. Dam, that's the last time I'm going to work on my computer whilst stoned.
