Hard drive problems

Ok i just installed a new hard drive on my parents comp and now i'm trying to copy the files from the old hard drive but i can't see it. I can see it in device manager but i can't see it in my computer. Any ideas how i can get to my files?

Have you partitioned and formatted the drive accordinly?

-make sure u connected the master to the new hard drive and ths slave to the old hard drive. or vice versa (depending on how you want it.)

-make sure your jumpers are set up correctly.

Go to control panel, administrative tools, computer management and see if you see it there. If so, you might have to activate the drive.
