AST Advantage Adventure P/N 503172-001. Has 630 MB primary hard drive and 5.1 gig slave hard drive.Windows 95a and 128 meg memory. When attempting to start Windows get message:

"Failure fixed disc 0"

"Press F1 to resume"
"del to enter setup"

When pressing F1 get message NO OPERATING SYSTEM

Can I correct this problem?

I had the same problem, what i had to do was delete the file from the dos prompt and then reinstall windows over the existing one. Someone might have an easier solution though.

Maybe boot sector is corrupted. If BIOS detects the drive, try booting with win95 boot floppy and see if you can fix master boot record with fdisk /mbr. If that won't fix it, get the manufacturer's drive utility and check drive's integrity - may be failing.

I don't remember the reason, Dean. Sorry. I made mistakes in 3 messeges yesterday 😉. May be... the message was not about hardware.
