hard drive problem?

Hello all. I'm wondering if someone can give me some help here. I just ordered a new desktop and got it all put together no problems. I was able to install windows fine the first time, as well as the mobo drivers, video drivers, and everything else. I got into some Ghost Recon for about an hour and installed some other games, with the only problem being my onboard LAN could get me on the local network connection but not the internet. I installed and old pci lan card and it worked fine. However, shortly after the computer would randomly lock up. I tried reformatting after several other things didn't do the trick (renstalling mobo drivers, repairing windows, etc.) and I just now got to installing the mobo drivers again. About halfway through, I got a DElayed Write Failed error, and that some files could not be saved to the sys32 folder because of either a hardware failure or network malfunction.

This is the second time all this has happened. Could the SATA hard drive I got be crap? Maybe memory? I can't get on the network long enough to get a memtest program. Next step will be for me to take an IDE hard drive I've got and replace the other one and see if that works. PLease let me know what you think.

Yeah - Delayed Write Failure usually means that Write Caching is turned on for that drive, but it is not keeping up with it. It is more common with some older external SATA cases connected to internal mobo SATA ports.
