Hard Drive problem

My Windows 2000 Pro suddenly said that the primary partition of the 2nd hard drive (Maxtor 160G) is not formatted. It wanted me to reformat the drive. It was working the day before and have a bunch of data. Even the 2nd partition of the same drive is still working. I am backing up the 2nd partition now.
Anyone know what's going on? Any way to fix this without lossing data?
Thanks.

No good ideas... If you have a drive imaging utility like Ghost, you can try and see if Ghost see's the partition and if it does make an image of it....
