Hey, I just bought a WD 160gb SE hard drive and its installed and everything. i have the 160 hd set up as my primary hard drive using the controller card and I have my original 40gig Dell hard drive with xp on it as the primary connected to the mobo. When ever i transfer a files from the 40gig to the 160gig it takes forever. like 2 bin files take 3 mins to transfer. Is there any way to speed the hard drives up? ANy help is greatly appreciated.

are both hard drives using DMA? if not try that, also try putting the 160GB on the secondary as master and that should speed things up.

DMA is on for both hard drives. So, should I put my 40 gig on the controller card as the master?
