Hard drive port from P133 to new AMD sys. Need to reformat before win98 reinstall?

Just got my new K7T TURBO from AllStarShop.com. I'm moving my 30GB Maxtor from the P133 to the new TBird 900. I'm told I need to reinstall win98 but do I need to reformat and destroy the previous installation?

I would at first reinstal without reformat and see if it holds or backup your sustem format and install win98 then try to restore little by little your programs. I do not know why you were informed you need to redo your entire system., however the above is one way to go.

yes,but back up you stuff if you try to install win 98 will detect previouse op system. At least thats what happened to myself whenever I would try to just install op. sys. when one is already up.
