hard drive permission error

I upgraded to a new 3tb hard drive and it seems like there are some serious permission errors. I merely copied my folders from my old drive to the new drive.

a lot of the sub folders are marked as "read only" and i can't remove it. I also have tried the cmd prompt command attrib to fully remove all the read only but nothing sticks.

is it tied to the folders themselves or to the drive? any ideas?

thanks

I just noticed that the attribute box is a 3 way toggle, empty, filled and checked. My sub folders are all filled. Dunno what this means and never noticed it before.

BUMPing this because I have similar problems and I have no idea how all this permission stuff works. Any helpful guides or sites that you fine pros might recommend for some learnin'?
