Hard drive partition size?

I am setting up a computer for the kids and have an old P133 MHz on a TYAN TITANIII model S1468 motherboard, 48MB EDO memory, WD1.5GB hard drive, and am running W98 SE. My question is this: what is the maximum size of partition I can have on a hard drive? I want to get a larger HD (4.3 GB) and would like to use it as 1 partition. I remember reading that there are some limits to how big of partitions can be used with W98 and old BIOS's). This BIOS is AWARD dated 8/30/95. Thanks for any input.

w95a has a 2.1 gb limit.

some older bioses have an 8.4 gb limit, which can be overcome with the use of a shim [provided by hdd manufacturer].

You won't have any problems with a 4.3gb HD. Just make sure to update your BIOS (go to the Tyan website) before you install the new HD.
