Hard drive not recognized

I just put together a new computer last night and I'm having some trouble. Heres what I'm running:

AMD Athlong 64 3200+ Venice
Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 (is this board okay?)
ATI x800XL 256MB
Seagate 160GB SATA
WD 200GB IDE

When I installed Windows, it wouldn't recognize my SATA drive. I finally got Windows up and running installed on my IDE drive which I really didn't wanna do. Is there a way I can get my SATA drive up just for extra storage? It's plugged in and the hardware is installed right, I've checked many times. It would really be nice if it worked.

Also, the board has Coax in, so I bought a coax cable for my logitech z-5500 digital speakers, and it won't work. When I put the input device as coax, it says "no digital data."
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Make sure SATA (non RAID) is engaged in the BIOS and when you boot to XP with the PATA HD install the Drivers...to put XP on the SATA Drive you should have pressed F6 and put in the drivers before hand. Also make sure the cables are set up correctly...
