Hard Drive mystery

I have two hard drives both 500 GB, #1 partitioned into C:\ and F:\, and #2 partitioned into D and E. Every so often Windows will diskcheck my #1 F:\ partition and say there are no bad sectors. However sometimes when I look at the POSTing screen my hard drive #2 with D and E does not show up at all, so when I look at My Computer it's not there. What's wrong and why does it disk check F if the problem is with D and E?

Perhaps you should run a chkdsk on all your partitions then look at the logs to see what the results show.

If you have extra sata cables, I would try a new pair of them. In the past I've had drives dissappear and replacing the cables cured it.
