Hard drive monitoring utility?

I've done a couple searches for a program that does something like this but I've come up empty.

Just a program that will tell me when either of my hard drive are being accessed, by programs, network users (shared files on both HDD's) etc.

It wouldn't even need to say what specifically was doing the accessing, just that it was. I've tried the "hear the hard drive spin" method and that is a little... inconsistent.
