Hard Drive Mix and Match

I have an Asus P4P800, and I'm thinking about getting some SATA hard drives. Can EIDE drives (what I have now) be used in conjunction with EIDE? Or does that cause problems?

I may just get a couple of SATA drives and get rid of my EIDE drives altogether, but I want to know my options first.

Well, right now I am sunning 2 IDE drives, and two SATA drives, and 5 SCSI drives (in raid0) on one box. Windows 2000 primary boot, but I also have Windows 98SE a,d WinXP and WinXP64 bit in a quad boot setup.

Does that answer your question ?

Markfw900 has quite the hard drive compilation in his rig does he not? 🙂

I have one native SATA and one ATA133 running together well. I hope to add a 74GB Raptor to the mix soon.

good, because I know my brother had trouble on his nforce2 board

I also have 2 nforce boards (A7N8X and A7N8X deluxe) no problems on either. Your brother may have had problems configuring it, but I am sure it was not a hardware problem.
