Hard drive messed up! HELP

Ok, so I really need to know what to do here. I was downloading some stuff with bittorrent, but it was really starting to slow up the computer, so I stopped and thought i'd reboot. Well, when it usually brings me to my boot selector, I just got "L 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99..." etc etc. Just a whole bunch of 99's. So what does that mean?
I scanned both drives using a rescue disk, it said they both had incorrect cluster reports, so it fixed that, but at the end of the scan it always says had errors accesing drive. And sometimes it wont scan, just says, cannot access drive. I had originally thought that maybe the mbr was messed up somehow and that I need to replace it, could that be it? I booted up the computer on knoppix so that I could check the web and ask here. I can read both drives from here. Any help would be really really greatly appreciated, thanks.
