Hard drive making weird noises...... please help

save your important stuff to disc or another HD. may possibly be dying. shouldnt take the chance of loosing everything
 
Download, install, and run Everest; in its Storage section is an icon for SMART. Click there, and look for anything that's failing.
Maybe do that though after you've safely evacuated all necessary data off the drive - if it is in fact uttering its death throes, then its time may be limited. Run the SMART thing later on, to see what it has to say.
