Anybody know what the Hard Drive limit for Asus A7N266-VM is.
Does it support 48bit LBA??
I'm thinking of adding a 200Gb HDD and I want to know whether I have to get a PCI card too.

Thnx

From Microsoft -- How to enable 48-bit Logical Block Addressing support for ATAPI disk drives in Windows XP
By default, the original release version of Windows XP Home Edition and of Windows XP Professional do not have 48-bit LBA support. Your computer must meet the following requirements to use 48-bit LBA ATAPI support:
? 48-bit LBA-compatible BIOS.
? 137-GB hard disk or larger.
? You must have Windows XP SP1 installed.
Aside from a new beta, the date for the latest BIOS (1007) for your board]http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?Type=All&model=A7N266-VM[/
] is 8-20-2003. Unless the beta version addresses 48 bit LBA drives, the last non-beta version is probably too old to suppor them.

Actually I found this in the FAQ section.
The A7N266 Series motherboards have 48-bit hard drive support, allowing for hard drives larger than 127GB. Please refer to the link below for more details.
