Hard Drive light Flashes and Noise

HI All

I just built a new p4 system. I used a Western Digital 80gig 8meg cache drive that i believe is making a obnoxious fanlike noise. Does anyone know what i can do to silence it? It sounds like a fan that isnt spinning on its axis truely. Everytime there is a noise the hard drive light comes on. Someone told me to deactivate windows index feature but that didnt do anything.

No vibration. The computer is working fine except for the aggravating noise. This is the first time i have used windows xp. Do any of your hard drives make noises when you're serfin the web. This is definitely the noisiest computer ive ever had.
