My hard drive LED does not seem to work. Either it's always on or always off depending on the way i plug it in. Is there a bios setting for this or something?
Are you lining up the + pin with the + on the cable. Try it both ways to see if it will work. Sometimes the instructions have the pins labled incorrectly because of a board revision. Check both the manual and the writings on the board to see if they are the same. Possibly try shifting it a pin over if there is nothing there. Luckily you at least know that the led works cause it would at least light up. Good luck.
I'm not sure which way it is lined up. I mentioned that when i have it plugged one way the light is constantly on, and the other way is always off. Anyone?
and I was thinking I was the only person who was having that problem
Here is what I've noticed so far. Originally I had Asus K7M in my ProCase and hard drive LCD was working just fine. Couple months ago I got Asus A7V and put K7M in my other case and once K7M found its new home, I never could get that hard drive LCD working correctly again, unless I put K7M back into my original ProCase. This makes me think this all has something to do with type of LCD used and probably current or resistance.
lol, Doesn't work on my A7V eather...wtf, whats up with all this.
Could it be since i am using a IBM drive on the ATA100, does that mean the LED only works when u use the regular ide?
On the K7M, the HD LED is pins are off to the side, they are not grouped with the rest of the pins.
I have not tried crosswise yet on my PRo2, i checked the other day and it didn't seem like it could go crosswise. Anyways I will check it out and get back to you guys.
