hard drive led always on

i just set up a asus cusl2-c and the hardd rive light never blinks or turns off. what could cause this? did i maybe hook it up to the wrong pins?

Sounds like the wrong pins or if it is the right pins you can try turning it the other way

You know, if motherboard/case manufacturers got together, they should just create a damn standard plug, kinda like an ATX power plug. That way, you simply can't fudge it up. Much quicker, too! I hate those pins. They're one of the worst things about setting up a new motherboard. This simple "only goes in one way" plug would rid the problems for people with bad eyesight, too. Anyone know why they don't do that?

You know 007 that would be great, I just love it when I am building a computer for somebody and the case they have don't have the wires marked, That will make a old man out of you fast

Amen Bond!!!! A universal plug would be one hell of a big help. I have been doing a lot of board testing lately and it sure would speed up the process.

If not wrong pins it must be the IDE cable not connected properly.
