hard drive ish

Hello,

I have one system using XP Pro and another using 98. Can i take the hard drive from the 98 system and stick it in the XP system as a slave. On the main drive in the XP system, should i put the jumper to Cable Select or Master? Will this work, and should I be able to see all my files from the 98 system. Tips, pointers, suggestions?

This should work without any real problems. (Drive letters MIGHT be rearranged in XP slightly, but that is easily corrected).

Your XP drive should be set to Master and your 98 drive to slave (unless you plug them in to seperate channels, than each to Master). Windows XP should be able to access the drive and all the files without issue.

Great suggestion. put them on different channels. i can do that easier than f'ing around with the little jumpers. I lost one of them once. Anyways, thanks, will do that tonight
