Hard Drive Hotswap Problem in XP

I have a hotswap drive installed on my computer that works fine for hotswapping in any dos based OS, but when I used it in an NT based OS like XP it doesnt work. I understand why it does not work, but I have heard rumors of utilities that could allow for hotswap in NT based OS's. I would appreciate any help. Thx
