Hard Drive Help

I just received my new WD 120 Hd 8mb Cache. I installed it but I have one problem, Windows says its 111 gb, what happened to the other 9 gb? Is there a hidden parition?

Nope, windows will never give you all of the hard drive space that is actually available, or at least you wont think you're getting all of it. It is because the hard drive manufacturers and windows define a MB different. Hard drive manufacturers define it as 1000 bytes and windows defines it as 1024 bytes (real definition). So you end up not getting as much space as the hard drive manufacturer advertises. It is a marketing scheme really.
