Today I had an old 750gb WD green hard drive fall 8 feet off of a shelf, bounced 3 times and still works fine :flushed:

What did it land out that it bounced 3 times, and why do you got a shelf 8 ft tall?

The shelf, is about 7 feet tall in the garage attached to the house, and the drive landed on very thing rubber mats..

Smile! That was good fortune. Part of the reason is that it was less than a TB drive. The bigger the drive, the more fragile in my experience.

Hmm, those must be insanely thick mats, and why are you putting a (bare?) HD so high up? :p

Update....The drive died :p, just enough time to get the data off of it. It shows up sometimes then it doesn't:p
