Hard Drive for Windows 2k Pro Operating system

Hi,

I have heard some people that still have problems using Sata drives with older operating systems.. I am going backward from XP to Windows 2k Pro and was wondering if it was a good idea to get a PATA drive for Windows.

I was looking at the old Seagate Barracuda 40 GB drive.. 7200.7
and also a larger, but maybe faster Samsung 250 GB drive.. 2414C if I remember right.

What would be a really good performance PATA hard drive?

Sata drives work just fine under Win2K.
There's no reason you can't use one.
The only problem you might have with big drives is the 147GB limit, but thats easily remedied from within Windows.
