I already have a western digital 250gb SATA drive for my OS.

I was hoping to get another SATA drive specifically to install on my games on.

Is this a good idea? Will it improve game performance even if just slightly?

I was thinking of a new 320gb Seagate or a Samsung.

Thanks!

I doubt you will see any improvement in games. Maybe if you went from a 5400RPM to a 7200RPM, but from what you are describing they sound like they will be same speed.

It might decrease loading times slightly. If you're running other stuff in the background (like ripping/encoding video, for instance) it will be a more significant increase in speed to have each application on its own physical hard disk.
