hard drive for fast winxp (coming vista) boot time

i dont know much about hard drives but i want a fast winxp and coming vista boot up time. my seagate 7200.7 sucks. rig is in the signature. upgrading hard drive to SCSI or raptor, can someone teach this complete newb to what i'll need to get/to do for the 15k drive? looking into Hitachi Ultrastar 15k147
what is the difference between Serial attached SCSI and SCSI Ultra320?
what is the difference between 68pin and 80pin?
can someone recommend me a pair (hard drive and scsi pci card, my mb has a free.. PCI, PCI x1, & PCI x4, PCI x16 slot.
i have done a search through this forum and a lil on google. but i'm still cnofused as to what i need to do..
