Ok, right now I am only running 2 HD's, my internal C drive and a external firewire HD (E:\)
There has been a lot of downloading recently onto both drives, and i can feel them getting sluggish, I am getting ready to format them both , but now this happens.
One of the biggest folders on my E:\ is my mp3 folder
P) . However, I recently entered and found that it only listed all the files going up to the letter E. More then half of my files and folders are gone, and they appear gone if i check the size propeties of the folder. I cannot find the files in explorer, media player or any other kind of program.
The weird thing is...they are still there, and working. Whenever I load a playlist that has any of the "invisible" songs on it..they play fine. Whenever I enter a file name of a folder I can no longer see, it enters the directory without a problem. The only thing is the found folders will not appear when i exit the directory.
I'm kind of at my wits end, I tried refreshing the folder, disconnecting the drive and booting it up, both while windows is running and while the computer is off.
I am now afraid to format or possibly risk losing some of my files, anyone have any ideas?
And yes, I am logged in as administrator, if that helps at all.
any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks all!
