Hard drive failure?

Well, my computer has been randomly restarting, having blue screens of death, memory losses, application failures, long start-up times, and most importantly, strange sounds coming from the computer (like a motor). I suspect my hard drive is dying. Is this correct?

Also, since my computer is OEM, if I switch the hard drive to another 120gb, will the manufacterer OEM Windows accept it?

SMART is saying the drive is fine, but beware. SMART has been known to be wrong sometimes.

Motor noise is one thing, older WD drives - at least the couple I had - had a tendency to get rather noisy after a couple years in operation. The noise though you are hearing might also be the CPU cooling fan going bad. If the CPU overheats that can cause BSODs, app failures, and the like. What does speedfan say about your CPU temp?

SMART has never been right for me. I am going through two drive failures within a week of each other and never got any warnings from SMART.
