I am really thinking about buying a lappy but want to be very money effeciant. I know i have a 80 gig at 7200 laying around. If i were to enclose this would it run at 7200rpm as if it were a normal internal hard drive? just wondering. im looking to save as much money as possible considering im a sophmore in highschool and money doesnt grow on trees. Thanks in advance!!!!!

as far as i know (since this question is simple), yes, the hard drive will spin at a max speed of 7200rpm, but the data transfer rate will be handicapped by USB2 or firewire. external enclosures are generally used as storage.

btw if you don't really need it (laptop), don't buy it.
