Hard Drive Detection takes forever.

OK so I?m working on upgrading a system and i bought an ASUS A7V8X-MX mobo because the price was right, it had everything i needed on board and there were a ton of good reviews for it on newegg. Anyways I installed it and everything works fine but it is taking forever to detect the hds/cd drives when it posts. It could be a drive problem but both the drivers are brand new an pioneer dvr-108 and 80 gig western digital hd. I've got the latest bios and everything too. Anyone have any ideas?

Specs:
ASUS A7V8X-MX
Athlon xp 2700
pioneer dvr-108
80 gig western digital hd
semi-generic 300watt ps

Recent Western Digital hard drives have four jumper settings: Master, Slave, Cable Select, and Single Drive. If your WD is on a data cable by itself, set the jumper for Single Drive (which is done by pulling the jumper cap off the pins and leaving it off).

yeah that jumper thing was the whole problem. I saw that setting when i was putting the drive in but just assumed leaving it on master wouldn't be a problem. You learn something every day i guess.
