First off the HD is a Maxtor 15gig, I believe its a DiamondMax 40. The drive number to identify it is: 51536U3
I'm pretty sure my HD is dead, but I'm wondernig if it was the drive itself or me doing something to it (For reasons being I need to RMA it and I need to know if this is valid)
When I boot up I can't even get to the OS loading before it starts making a "clicking" noise, and Windows won't boot up (This is when the HD is set as non-primary)
I have managed to somehow read data off the drive (When it failed I tried to copy stuff ASAP and managed to grab a few *small* files, anything big and it would lock up with a clicking noise)
So, I can't remember doing anything to the drive other then lots of deleting\reading, but that shouldn't really cause a drive to fail, should it? It's about 2 years old and I wasn't expecting it to go so soon.
