Hard Drive Dead

I finally got win xp pro in. then I got a new Hard drive, an IBM Deskstar 27.3 GB drive. I chose to make the drive NTFS and it worked smooth for 2 days, when all of a sudden I came home Thanksgiving Day to find a blue screen error. It said a hardware device was not properly configured and if this screen comes up again call Microsoft. So I restart and it works fine, but I left it on over night to find the blue screen was on again. I restarted and now it says "No bootable devices found" I look in the BIOS and I cant see my new drive. It isnt actually new, my old drive died and Dell sent me a replacement. I am way saddened by this, XP was great, but I may need to upgrade or something. Has anyone heard of anything like this before, or is it just another bad drive. They are sending me yet another drive. I hope its not my system killing it.

My specs are as follows:

P3 733 coppermine
27.3 gB IBM Deskstar HD
256 MB RDRAM PC700
Intel Corporation VC820 Mobo
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2/TNT2 Pro
Creative SB Live! Value
Intel(R) PRO/DSL 2100 Modem - PPP
Linksys LNE100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter
Samsung 16x DVD ROM
Sony 8x/8x/32x CDRW
Pinnacle Systems DV200 Firewire

and thats bout it...

what deskstar is it? if its a 75gxp then im not surprised it died.

dont worry your new hd will be fine 🙂
