I have a 3 drive system, my D: drive contained all my data files all of a sudden I can't boot my XP Pro system with this drive connected to the system. It is formatted as NTFS and no files are encrypted. How can I access this drive and retreive my information?

Please Help

This is really crazy now. I just put the drive back on the cable and booted the system and it boots but does not recognize the drive. When I go into control panel and go to drive management the drive is listed but with no drive letter. This is how the drive is listed:
Volume: Data (no drive letter)
Layout: Partition
Type: Basic
File System: NTFS
Status: Healthy (Active)

Any Help is appreciated

How about right-click the partition's white bar and choose Change drive letter and paths from the menu, see if it'll let you do it that way (meaning, give it a drive letter again)?

Sorry I didn't mention that all options except delete partition and help menu are grayed out. This is driving me crazy.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Hmm, move the mouse over and right-click where it's called Drive1 or whatnot, right-click that, and does it have something like "import foreign disk"?

When you hover over disk one and righ-click you can access the following:
Convert to Dynamic Disk
Properties
Help

I did not click on convert to dynamic disk, because I didn't know what it would do. I don't want to mess-up any of the data on the drive if possible.

Is this any help?

Thanks
