I keep having problems with corrupt files on my file server (not a good thing)

Where do you propose is the most likely culprit:

MS SMB File sharing
NTFS Compression
686b chipset IDE HDD controller
IDE Cable (normal 80wire)
HDD itself (both my Seagate 'Cuda's do it)

MS SMB File Sharing. Turn it off and see if the problem goes away. Not likely the HDD itself if it happens to more than one drive. But - then the controller could be suspect if it is common to both.

Yeah, that's the reason why I was asking, I'm thinking of getting a HDD controller, but if it's SMB sharing that's the issue then it's not really an 'issue' for me then is it.
