This is a bit of a n00b question, but I'm having trouble finding the answer.
One of the drives in my RAID0 config died last night (40 GB IBM 60GXP, shocker 😉). I'm going to replace both 40 GB drives with a single 80 GB drive for now. My old IDE config looked like this (Asus A7N8X motherboard):
2x40GB IBM 60GXP in RAID0 on HighPoint RocketRAID 133 card
1x27GB IBM 34GXP (Ultra/66) as primary master
Pioneer DVD-116 as secondary master
Yamaha CRW-F1 as secondary slave
I was thinking about putting the new 80 GB drive as primary master and moving the 27 GB drive as primary slave. Unfortunately, the 27 GB drive is a ATA-66 drive, while the new 80 GB drive is an ATA-100. Would I be better off putting one of the drives on the HighPoint card? If so, which drive should go on the onboard controller and which should go on the HighPoint card?
