I want to buy a WD Raptor but the price performance ratio isn't too good. Are their any alternatives that are priced around 100$, NOTE I DO NOT NEED MUCH SPACE, I HAVE NO NEED FOR HUGE 200GB AS IM RUNNING A 20GB RIGHT NOW. Yes a 20GB, and im starting to fill up it rather fast, so i would like anythign better.

Also will i notice a speed increase from what i have right now, (WD200BB). Also will i notice a sound difference, i want something quiet as right now the HD is the only thing in my system that makes a real racket.

Basically i want a good fast quiet HDD without buying a Raptor (yet, after christmas i will have a raptor) :) .

the WD raptor is not your ordinary hard drive (thus the extra $) but totally worth it.

10000RPM
fast seek times
5 yr warranty
etc.

I disagree. The Raptor is no worth the $$. You won't see that much of a performacne increase in day to day stuff. If I were you I'd get a hot deal on a drive with an 8mb buffer that is <$75.
