hard drive buzzing

I recently took out some fans and noticed that my hard drive has started to have a constant buzzing sound even while idle.

And on shutdown, it's the last thing in my rig to spin down. 2-3 seconds after my last fan spins down, I can hear my hard drive spin down.

Is this cause for concern or rma worthy?

Is the buzz electrical or mechanical? Make sure it's not just the HDD vibrating mechanically against its mounting as there are isolator mounts available to help prevent mechanical buzz.

New noises from hard drives are never a welcome sign. You can try tightening down screws or otherwise try to reduce the vibration of you hard drive mounts. If it's an internal noise, it's a really good time to think about replacing the disk.
