Hard drive based MP3 player question

For all of you who have a hard drive based MP3 player do you workout or run with it? If so, have you had any problems with it? Specifically I am wondering about running with one and the effects on the hard drive from the jarring it would receive when running with it. I really like some of the hard drive based players available but I am leary of running with it. I am afraid that when I run with it it will cause the drive to crash and ultimately the player to stop working since data cannot be read from or written to it.

the ipod is built to last. it has like a 20 minute skip protection and is really stable, go to gym with it and bounce around and do all the good stuff, not a single problem.

from all I've read it's not a problem with hdd players. I used to have one and never was feeling dangerous enough to try jogging with it or something, but according to a few reviews I read of my $150 10GB player, people have done that without trouble.

I don't know why, since the heads in 3.5" drives crash if you just slightly jarr then while they're seeking. the 2.5 and 1.8" drives they use in players must be speacially designed somehow to now do that. of course, the fact that they rarely spin up decreases the probability that it will happen, but still there's a good chance it will seek while you foot has impact if you're jogging, so there must be something special about those drives.

I used to have a hard drive based mp3 player and when I ran with it, somehow all the bouncing must have jarred the data loose because songs kept getting mixed up. It would start with one song then seamlessly play parts of other songs. If I put new songs on, they were fine until I ran. Then they got mixed up again.

I've jogged with my ipod, had it in the vehicle (which I do often a lot) and it's never skipped...

really awesome mp3 player.
