I need to backup my hard drive. Is it possible to back it up in such a way that i can burn it on CDs? My hardrive is about 2 gigs and I have several CD-Rs to burn.

TIA

You need a program called Norton Ghost. It's absolutely the best ghosting/backup software I've used. It backs up your HD to CD's...More data on your drive, the more CD's it takes. If your system crashes or whatever...you put a boot floppy in and it restores it back with all programs loaded and all drivers loaded...exactly like it was before the crash.

Forgot to add. The software costs $65 at www.cdw.com. You might be able to get it cheaper elsewhere...or free if you know where to look. ;-)

Just to add... you'll need Ghost 2001 (version 6.5 or later) to write directly to CD-R.

Nero also has a backup feature to CD as well. I've never used it, but I have used Ghost which is a very good choice.

Blah, don't pay $65 for it. Try a program called Imagecast. It's similar software that allows you to clone and duplicate your hard drive.

Here's a link to a free demo. The demo is good for 30 days and has full-functionality. IC3
