Have an internal 2TB Seagate 7200rpm HDD for my D data drive. Running Windows 10 Home.

For the past few months, I've had about 4-5 second delays when I want to save a file. First noticed it in Libre writer but now noticing it with other programs. Then I noticed that after a save delay, if I change something in Libre writer and save the file again, it saves immediately. I've had this 2TB HDD for many years and it never acted like this even with Win10.

So the symptom is like the drive is sleeping and it has to spin up to do a save, but once a save is done an immediate subsequent save is done with no delay.

I have all of Win10's power options for the drives set to never (which changes to zero).

Is there another reason why a HDD can go to sleep even though Win10 is set to never sleep?
