Hard Drive and DVD Burner/ROM Cooler - recommendations

would you say it's essential to cool the burner/rom? i'm sure you would say yes for the hard drive

Optical drives do not need cooling, period.

Hard drives may or may not, depending on the ambient temperature and how they're mounted. If you can find some aluminum U-channels, that would be your best bet (for low cost and good cooling).
