hard drive and cdrom not seen in device manager

My pc has been runing fine lately. I noticed last night that in device manager it does not show my hard drive under "disk drives" or my cdrom under "computer". The system runs just fine. The hard drive is the master and the cdrom is the slave on the primary ide. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:Q
