Ok I have two WD400BB 40gb drives and two Barracuda IV 60gb drives. I was thinking of making the two WD's a raid 0 drive on a raid controller card, and put the two barracuda drives on the onboard controller on each channel and have windows 2000 make them raid 0 to get around the raid issue.
My questions are...
Will my cd drives work on the slave channels on each channel of the onboard ide controller with windows 2000 making the primary channels a raid 0 channel?
If the raid array on the hardware card containing windows 2000 becomes corrupt does the software raid array on the barracuda's become destroyed with it, or will it still be there after repairing the main array and reinstalling windows 2000?
Or should I keep all the drives separate and get out of the raid 0 business for my data's sake?
