I am looking for a hard drive for a dedicated gaming rig. I don't really care much about load times or anything fancy. I am only interested in features that contribute to in-game performance. There are some expensive hard drives out there but I'm not sure if the features really improve fps.

Thanks for the help.

honestly you cant go wrong w/ a raptor but if you dont care about load times or anything jus go w/ a seagate at least w/ an 8meg cache

FPS in games will mostly deal with your cpu/ram/video card not your hard drive, unless the hard drive is ancient with barely any cache. Any 7200rpm with 8mb or higher cache will do the job if your looking for an upgrade

if you want a better fps increse. invest in better video card. possilbe even cpu. harddrive doesn't really affect that. if you want some advice on other upgrades such as those, give us your specs. i have a western digital 8mb cache 80gb. works great. raptors are really nice. and i think they have like 5-year warranties.
