Hard Drive Actign Up

Okay I installed a hard drive (160gb hitachi deskstar) and it is recognized in the device manager but not in my computer. I ran the the disk that came with it and everything went fine but when i go to my computer i dont see the new drive. does anyone have any suggesstions?

yeah...i formatted but using the disk installer thing. it wont let me go to dos through a bootdisk.

After formatting, if I remember correctly, you need to set the drive as active in Disk Management.

well i just tried to install windows xp on it but when it stime to choose the partition/drive, it says the drive is not accessible. how do i set the drive to active? where is disk mangement?

edit: i found teh disk management thing and it didnt show up there. I checked teh device manager and its there with no problems. any other suggestions? but it doesnt say any name for the drive like hitachi deskstar...it says s abunch of letters and number...
