Hi. I'm having an issue and am not sure how to fix it. I just installed Vista recently. I have 1GB RAM (though I don't think this has anything to do with my issue, but I've heard Vista is slow without at least 2GB RAM)

Anyway whenever I click on "My Computer" and go to my hard drives via windows explorer it lags. It's like loading a web page. Are my drives supposed to be indexed? Is this just how Vista works?

Vista runs a lot slower than XP will on 1 gig of ram, most applications like games or live anti-virus programs can't run on 1 gig if they have to share with vista, my suggestion is upgrade your ram.

I agree your memory is low. Another thing that pops to mind is drivers. Is everything in Device Manager OK? No unknown devices?
